On Saturday 28 February members of the Wolsingham Wayfarers joined up with the Parish Council and local volunteers to plant nearly 100 trees at the top of Demesne Mill by the Sills, bordering the Family Walk. The trees were donated by The Conservation Volunteers as part of the Big Tree Plant. We look forward to watching them grow and flourish over the next few decades!
With the first birthday of our monthly Saturday walks fast approaching, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new weekday walks.
If you like the idea of joining us for shorter, more leisurely walks, then join us on the last Thursday of every month, 10am at Wolsingham Market Place.
Our first Thursday walk is on 30 October. We will be walking 2.5 miles along the river path to Bradley Burn. After a cup of tea in the farm shop we will decide whether to get the bus back or walk!
All welcome, and as always our walks are free to join.
If you have any questions, please drop us an email.
The second annual North Pennines Walking Festival is running from 27 September to 5 October. The theme is food. The final day features two Wolsingham walks. We are leading a hard walk around Pikeston Fell, while Bradley Burn are hosting a leisurely foodie walk.

We have put in a bid for £2,125 from the Big Small Grants Fund, so that we can reprint our guided walks leaflets and encourage more people to explore Wolsingham's wonderful footpaths.
We need your help to secure this funding. The public are being invited to vote for their top three projects at a special event on Saturday 2 November. Only those projects that secure enough votes will be awarded funds. Please come along to Wolsingham Upper School between 10.00am and 2.00pm to support us.
More information can be found on the Weardale Area Action Partnership website.
