Say hello and vote for your three favourite community projects today at Wolsingham School between 10am and 2pm
We have put in a bid for £2,125 from the Big Small Grants Fund, so that we can reprint our guided walks leaflets and encourage more people to explore Wolsingham's wonderful footpaths.
We need your help to secure this funding. The public are being invited to vote for their top three projects at a special event on Saturday 2 November. Only those projects that secure enough votes will be awarded funds. Please come along to Wolsingham Upper School between 10.00am and 2.00pm to support us. More information can be found on the Weardale Area Action Partnership website. Our next guided walk Around Wolsingham starts at 10.00am on Sat 3 August. It's about 5 miles and takes in some of the beautiful fields and countryside around Wolsingham. Take a look at our lovely poster for more details (click on the image to open in pdf)
The new information boards for the Wolsingham Family Walk have been installed, thanks to the children from Wolsingham Primary School, who helped design them. Local children from the Wolsingham Primary School were invited to take part in designing the boards. As a thank you for their help, the Wolsingham Wayfarers presented the children with compasses and orienteering equipment which will help the children explore more of the countryside and their local area. Three brand new information boards have been installed along the 1.5 mile circular route of the popular Wolsingham Family Walk. Decorated with a map of the route and things to see along the way, the boards will accompany the Family Walk leaflets which can found in a number of local shops and pubs. The design and installation of the boards were funded by a grant from the Durham County Council through the Parish Paths Partnership. The Family walk was created in 2004 when the footpaths were upgraded to hard surfaces making it suitable for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs.
