The new information boards for the Wolsingham Family Walk have been installed, thanks to the children from Wolsingham Primary School, who helped design them.
Local children from the Wolsingham Primary School were invited to take part in designing the boards. As a thank you for their help, the Wolsingham Wayfarers presented the children with compasses and orienteering equipment which will help the children explore more of the countryside and their local area.
Three brand new information boards have been installed along the 1.5 mile circular route of the popular Wolsingham Family Walk. Decorated with a map of the route and things to see along the way, the boards will accompany the Family Walk leaflets which can found in a number of local shops and pubs.
The design and installation of the boards were funded by a grant from the Durham County Council through the Parish Paths Partnership.
The Family walk was created in 2004 when the footpaths were upgraded to hard surfaces making it suitable for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs.
